2025 Toyota 4Runner Concept

new 2025 Toyota 4Runner should be an efficient and robust hybrid

2025 Toyota 4Runner – The Toyota 4Runner is a popular midsize SUV since 1984. It has been a reliable vehicle for many years but is due for a redesign. The current fifth-generation model has been on the market since 2009 and is beginning to show its age.

Toyota has been working on updating its off-road truck and SUV lineup, starting with the all-new 2022 Toyota Tundra and continuing with the all-new 2023 Sequoia. The 4Runner should be next in line, but Toyota must still confirm a launch date.

The earliest the new 4Runner would arrive would be 2023 as a 2024 model year vehicle. However, reports have Toyota prepping a launch for a new Land Cruiser in America, based on the Land Cruiser Prado, which could delay the 4Runner revamp until 2024 for the 2025 model year.

The new 4Runner will be built on Toyota’s TNGA-F truck platform for the new J300 Land Cruiser, Tundra, Lexus LX 600, and Sequoia. This platform should also be used for the 4Runner and the new Tacoma pickup.

The new 4Runner will likely feature a more fuel-efficient 2.4L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, capable of producing the same or more horsepower as the current model. There may also be an option for a V6 engine, adding towing capabilities and power for off-road adventures.

The interior of the new 4Runner should be modernized, likely packing Toyota’s latest infotainment system that debuted on the Lexus NX with an optional 14-inch touchscreen. Expect substantial upgrades to help fend off rivals.

A 4Runner EV will likely arrive in the short term. However, an EV version should eventually become part of a future seventh-generation model.
